Which thermal pad thickness do I need?

Whatever the gap measures, rounded up to the next 0.5 mm. There is no universal answer and no safe default: the same graphics card model can ship with different pad heights depending on the batch. The pad finder explains how to measure it properly.

What is the difference between GP-Extreme and the other pads?

Conductivity and price. Within the same sheet size and thickness the higher-rated pad moves heat faster, but the gain is small compared with getting the thickness right. Fix the fit first.

Pad or paste?

Gap you can see, use a pad. Surfaces already touching, use paste. The full reasoning is in the interface guide.

How long does thermal paste last?

In a normal desktop, years — typically longer than the time until your next upgrade. Reapply when you take the cooler off, not on a calendar.

About the listings

Why do several pads show exactly the same rating and review count?

Because the retailer sells them as one listing with several variants, and the reviews are pooled across all of them. A 1.0 mm and a 1.5 mm sheet of the same pad share one review count. We label those clearly rather than repeating the number as if it belonged to a single item, and the showcases on the home page show one entry per pool.

Some products have no rating at all.

Then the listing has not collected one yet. We would rather show nothing than invent something.

Are the prices current?

They were correct when this page was generated and they come straight from the retail partner, but they move. The price at checkout is the one that counts.
