Phase Change
Between a fixed-thickness pad and a runny paste sits a material most builders never try. Phase change is solid at room temperature, handles like a thin shim, and turns into a paste-thin film the first time the processor gets hot. After that it stays where it was put instead of pumping out at the edges.
