Check price and buyOne hundred and twenty millimeters is the default size in a modern case, and this is the four-pin version of it: 1500 rpm at the top of its range, 58 CFM of airflow, 25.5 dBA, and a hydro-dynamic bearing rated at 50,000 hours at 40 C. It is a general-purpose intake or exhaust fan rather than a specialist one.
A PWM fan is told how fast to run by a signal rather than by having its voltage reduced, which means it can be held very low without stalling and ramped smoothly under load. In practice that is the difference between a machine that is silent while idle and one that hums constantly at whatever speed the board settled on.
Set the fan to its minimum until the component you care about reaches a temperature you would rather it did not exceed, then ramp steeply. Slow gradual curves keep the fan audible all day for no thermal benefit. What people notice is change in noise, not absolute level, so few large steps beat many small ones.
That is a substantial volume for a 120 mm fan at this speed, and in most cases it means one or two of these will handle the whole airflow requirement of a normal build. Adding more fans past that point tends to raise the noise floor without lowering any temperature that mattered.
Slightly more intake than exhaust keeps a case at mild positive pressure, so air enters through the filters you fitted instead of through every seam in the chassis. That is a dust decision more than a thermal one, and it is the reason two identical machines can look very different inside after a year.
