Check price and buyThe four-pin member of the 140 mm family, and the strongest fan listed here on paper: 67.4 CFM at 1000 rpm, a maximum of 21 dBA, and 1.35 mmH2O of static pressure. It runs on a hydrodynamic bearing rated beyond 50,000 hours at 40 C and fits with rubber mounts rather than screws.
Most fans trade one for the other: high-flow blades struggle against resistance, pressure-optimized ones move little in open air. At 67.4 CFM with 1.35 mmH2O this one is respectable at both, which is what makes it usable on a radiator or behind a filter as well as on an open panel.
The noiseless motor driver is a less visible part of the design than the impeller and matters just as much. Electrical switching noise from a cheap driver shows up as a whine that sits at a fixed pitch regardless of speed, and it is the sort of sound that becomes impossible to ignore once noticed.
The rubber mounts isolate the frame from the chassis, which removes the mechanical path that turns a small motor imbalance into a panel resonance. They also allow a fan to be fitted where the screw holes do not quite line up, since they pull through the hole rather than thread into it.
A 140 mm radiator fan needs pressure more than volume, and this one has enough to be worth trying before buying something dedicated. Run the same model on both sides of a radiator if you can: mismatched fans in push-pull fight each other more often than they help.
