The larger version of the same idea: one addressable RGB header expanded to six outputs, with seven male plug adapters supplied. It suits a full set of lit fans plus strips, and it can be chained further where the devices themselves support pass-through, which keeps a heavily lit build on a single board connection.

  1. Six outputs and further daisy chaining

    Six covers a case with three front fans, a rear fan, a top fan and a strip, which is a fairly typical build these days. Where individual devices support pass-through, the chain can extend beyond that, though each addition raises the current the original header has to supply.

  2. Keeping the lighting on one controller

    Splitting from one header rather than using several keeps everything under a single software channel, which is the difference between a case that pulses in unison and one where two groups drift out of phase. If matching effects across the build is the goal, a splitter does more for it than any amount of configuration.

  3. Sleeved cable in a visible build

    A machine with a glass panel is being looked at, so cable appearance is part of the product rather than an afterthought. The sleeving keeps six branches presentable, and the soft outer material resists the dust and the small tugs that eventually break unsleeved lighting cables at the connector.

  4. Plan the branch point

    With six legs, where the body of the splitter sits determines how tidy the result is. Behind the motherboard tray with the legs emerging near their targets works; in the middle of the case with cables radiating outward does not, and it is very hard to fix afterwards without pulling fans.
