The most-used gap size in the better compound, supplied two sheets at a time. Each 90 x 50 mm piece of 1.0 mm GP-Ultimate carries 15 W/mK, and together they hold enough material to repad a graphics card and a motherboard, or to keep a bench stocked through a run of similar jobs without reordering.
Matching stock to how the drawer empties
Inventory does not deplete evenly across thicknesses. The sizes that fit the most designs get cut into constantly and the rest sit still. Buying the busy size in pairs and the rare ones singly is the simplest way to stop a job stalling over a strip of pad.
Two sheets, two machines
One 90 x 50 mm sheet handles a typical card. Two handles the card and the board it plugs into, which is often the same afternoon of work. Where a shop is refreshing a batch of identical machines, the pair also means the second unit can start before the next order arrives.
Cut to a template once, reuse it
Make a paper or thin plastic template from the first cooler you strip and keep it labeled with the board name. On the second unit the cutting is mechanical, the pieces are identical, and the whole job takes a fraction of the time the first one did.
Keep the second sheet sealed until needed
The compound is non-curing and stable on a shelf, so an unopened sheet is genuine reserve stock. Once a liner comes off, however, the material starts collecting bench dust and fibers, so open the second only when the first is genuinely spent.
