Check price and buyGC-5 is the newest compound in the range and the one aimed at the failure mode that bothers people most: paste that works well on the first day and worse six months later. Its polymer composition is built to resist pump-out and drying, and the 3.5 g syringe is the standard size for a processor, a graphics core or a console repair.
Every heat cycle expands and contracts the metal on both sides of the joint by a tiny amount, and that movement slowly works thin compound outward from the center of the contact. On hardware that heats and cools many times a day the middle of the joint is where the paste is needed most and where it leaves first.
The manufacturer positions the GC-5 polymer as conforming to the micro-irregularities of a chip and a cooler base more readily than the earlier formulation, which is the whole job of a paste: not to sit between two surfaces but to disappear into their texture and leave no air behind.
Consoles, laptops and machines under continuous load are the hard cases, because nobody wants to take them apart again. A desktop cooler is twenty minutes of work; a console teardown is an afternoon and a bag of screws in a labeled tray. Compound chosen for endurance is worth more in those machines than in an easily opened tower.
Like the other compounds here it is non-electrically conductive, non-corrosive, non-curing, non-flammable and non-toxic. The nano diamond and ceramic filler changes how it behaves thermally, not how carefully you have to work around exposed contacts.
