The larger syringe of GC-Extreme, packaged with the tooling to apply it. At 8.5 W/mK it is the high-conductivity end of the paste range, and 3.5 g is enough for many applications, so this is the version for someone who reseats coolers regularly rather than once. The included spreader matters more with a compound this dense.
Why the spreader earns its place here
A stiff, heavily filled paste does not always flow into an even film under clamping pressure alone, particularly on a bare die or a cold plate with a visible machining pattern. Spreading a thin controlled layer first removes the guesswork, and you can see full coverage before the cooler hides it.
Enough compound to stop rationing it
The difference between a good application and a marginal one is often that somebody was being careful with the last of a syringe. At this size that pressure is gone: apply properly, wipe it off and start again if the contact pattern looks wrong, and treat the material as the cheap part of the job that it is.
Cleaning between attempts
Every reattempt starts with both surfaces genuinely clean. Paper towel first to take the bulk, then isopropyl on a lint-free cloth, then a moment to let it flash off completely. Fibers left behind from a cotton pad sit in the joint like grit and undo the work you just did.
A compound with a long track record
This formulation has been in circulation for years, which is worth something in a category where products appear and vanish. The rating and review count shown here are shared across the sizes of GC-Extreme sold under one listing, and they reflect a long accumulation of opinion rather than a recent launch.
