A lit mouse pad is the one RGB component that is actually in your field of view while you use the machine. Nova is 350 by 250 mm of soft microfiber over an anti-slip rubber base, with an illuminated outline on three sides, powered and controlled over a single USB lead with a button beside the plug.

  1. Three hundred and fifty millimeters of surface

    The small size suits a desk where the keyboard and the pad have to share the space in front of the monitor rather than one where the pad runs the full width. It gives a normal grip plenty of room at medium sensitivity, while a low-sensitivity player who sweeps from the elbow will want something larger.

  2. Microfiber over a rubber base

    The cloth surface is the forgiving kind: it tracks well for optical and laser sensors alike, takes fast movements without the mouse feet skating, and is comfortable under the wrist over a long session. Underneath, the rubber base holds flat to the desk instead of creeping during quick direction changes.

  3. Lighting that needs no software

    The cable is plain USB and the modes are cycled with a button next to the connector, so the lighting works on any machine that can supply power, including one that is not running the software a motherboard ecosystem expects. Nothing to install also means nothing to break on the next operating system update.

  4. Keeping a cloth pad clean

    Microfiber collects skin oil and dust the way any cloth surface does, and a dirty pad tracks worse and feels slower long before it looks bad. Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap, let it dry completely flat, and keep liquids away from the USB end while you do it.
