The same cable in black, which is the choice for a build where the cabling should disappear rather than stand out. It is a fixed 8-pin PCIe connector, individually sleeved, 30 cm long, in 18 AWG conductor. Black sleeving against a black interior is the quietest way to make a case look finished.

  1. Black is a design decision too

Not every build wants an accent color running across it. A dark interior with matched black cabling reads as one object rather than as a collection of parts, and it makes whatever lighting is present do the work of drawing the eye. It is the safe choice and often the better one.

  2. Sleeved cables and combs

The point of individually sleeved conductors is that they can be aligned and held parallel, usually with a comb. Without one they still look better than a bundle, but the straight-run appearance people are actually buying comes from the comb as much as from the sleeve.

  3. A fixed 8-pin connector

This one does not split into 6+2, which makes it slightly neater at the card end and slightly less flexible across future hardware. If the card in the machine has 8-pin sockets and is staying, that is a fair trade for one fewer seam in the connector.

  4. Bending near the plug

Sleeved cable is stiffer than the standard sort, so it wants a generous radius rather than a sharp turn immediately behind the connector. Plan the approach angle to the card, because forcing a stiff cable into a tight bend puts the strain exactly where the conductors meet the pins.
