The gap that appears most often on graphics cards, in the sheet size that suits doing several cards in a row. This 120 x 120 mm square of 1.5 mm GP-Extreme carries the same 12 W/mK rating as every other piece in the line, and gives a workshop the freedom to cut long memory strips and backplate runs without measuring the remaining stock first.

  1. Long runs without joining pieces

A 120 mm edge is long enough to cover a memory row, a backplate span or a full VRM bank in a single continuous piece. That matters more than it sounds: every joint between two pads is a line of air across the component underneath, and joints are what happen when the sheet is too small for the run.

  2. A working stock for card repair

Graphics-card teardowns cluster. A shop that does one usually does several that month, and they are usually the same generation of card with the same gaps. A large sheet at the size those cards want turns a series of orders into a single one.

  3. Checking a batch before you cut it all

When cutting a set for multiple identical units, fit the first one completely and close the cooler before cutting the rest. If the impression on the pad shows even compression across its face, the template is right and the rest can be produced quickly. If it does not, you have spoiled one piece rather than a dozen.

  4. Keeping a large sheet flat

Store the square flat, liners on, in a drawer or a folder rather than rolled in its shipping tube. Filler at this thickness takes a permanent curve from being stored curled, and a piece that wants to arch will lift at the edges no matter how carefully it is placed.
